2025 Commerce Union Activities Report

In 2025, the Commerce Union carried out several student development programmes designed to improve skills and prepare students for future careers in commerce and business-related fields.

These activities focused on creativity, career awareness, communication, leadership, and real-world business understanding.

1) Commerce Week Celebration

The union successfully celebrated Commerce Week.

Key Activities During Commerce Week

  • Domestic production learning

  • Market competition awareness

  • Industry challenge discussions

  • Commerce Day celebration

At the end of the week, a Commerce Day was conducted, giving students a platform to showcase their creative talents and commerce-based learning outcomes.


2) Educational Field Visit

An educational field visit was organized to help students understand:

  • Domestic production processes

  • Market competition

  • Business challenges

  • Practical commercial environments

  • Decision-making in business contexts

This gave students valuable real-life exposure to production and market systems.


3) Government Administration Panel Discussion

A special panel discussion was conducted on the recent changes introduced in Sri Lanka’s government administration system and the responsibilities of citizens.

This session was led by a distinguished former student of the school who currently serves in a senior position in the Department of Inland Revenue.

This activity helped students connect commerce education with governance, taxation, and public administration systems.


4) Commerce Career Seminar

A former student conducted a career guidance seminar explaining:
