Building Future Democratic Leaders Through Civic Education, Unity & Governance

The Student Parliament Programme of J/Vembadi Girls’ High School is a leadership and civic education initiative designed to help students understand democracy, governance, nation-building, peace, reconciliation, and social responsibility.

The programme gives students practical opportunities to experience parliamentary systems, ministerial responsibilities, elections, policy discussion, and collaborative leadership within the school community.


About the Student Parliament Programme

Introduction

The Student Parliament Programme develops the competencies students need as future citizens by helping them:

  • Understand democratic systems and practices

  • Strengthen peace and reconciliation values

This programme connects education with civic participation, democracy, and social harmony.


Objectives

The Student Parliament aims to:

  3. Support peace and reconciliation initiatives.

  4. Promote social cohesion and conflict resolution.
