The J/Vembadi Girls’ High School Maths Union (Math Club) is a student-driven academic club designed to build confidence, creativity, and advanced mathematical thinking among students from Grade 6 to Grade 12.
Operating under the guidance of the Mathematics Division, Provincial Department of Education – Northern Province, the club helps students strengthen analysis, synthesis, evaluation, logical reasoning, and creative problem-solving skills through engaging and real-world math activities.

The objectives of the Math Club are:
To enhance students’ interest in Mathematics through creative and engaging activities.
To develop Higher Order Thinking Skills in students from Grade 6 to Grade 12.
To organize mathematical competitions, exhibitions, quizzes, and projects.
To promote peer learning and mentoring across grade levels.
To support the integration of mathematics with real-life problem-solving.
To maintain records of all club activities and reflect on their impact.
Club Information
Affiliation
This club operates under the guidance of the Mathematics Division, Provincial Department of Education – Northern Province and follows the Ministry of Education’s pedagogical and ethical guidelines.
Membership
Open to all students from Grade 6 to Grade 12 with an interest in mathematics.
Members are expected to actively participate in all club activities.
Executive Committee members must have completed the Three-Day Residential Training Programme conducted by the Mathematics Branch of the Ministry of Education, or be mentored by trained EXCO members under teacher guidance.

Executive Committee Structure
Student Leadership Team
President – Provides leadership and oversees all Math Club activities.
Secretary – Handles correspondence, minutes, notices, and meeting arrangements.
Treasurer – Maintains financial records and oversees club budgeting.
Public Relations Officer (PRO) – Promotes events, manages social media, and coordinates with external bodies.
Documentation Officer – Maintains event reports, student reflections, and photo archives.
Grade Coordinators (7 Total) – One coordinator for each grade from Grade 6–12.
